Turtle Technology

Turtles are installed on all residential meters. The Turtle transmitter is a device that fits underneath the glass cover of an electric meter. Each day, the Turtle automatically reads the meter and sends information back to Barron Electric through the power lines.

This technology reduces the costs associated with manually reading meters and also helps identify power quality problems. The Turtle system provides greater accuracy in billing, helps locate outages and faulty equipment, and improves the efficiency of dispatching line crews.
