Energy-efficient lighting and appliances benefit all Barron Electric Cooperative members and the system. By replacing old, inefficient lighting and appliances with ones that have earned the government's Energy StarŪ rating, members help preserve energy sources and protect the environment while saving money.
As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Department of Energy has approved the Wisconsin State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) plan which starts January 1, 2010 and ends February 2010 or until funds are exhausted. Cash-back rewards are for consumers purchasing new Energy StarŪ qualified home appliances to replace an existing appliance. Forms can be downloaded at www.focusonenergy.com.
